Starting the week of March 30th, the Waconia Utilities Department will begin the process of flushing the water system utilizing fire hydrants located on dead end streets. Flushing hydrants will continue for approximately two months. Flushing ensures water quality and helps avoid random occurrences of rusty water when there is a high demand for water. Sometimes hydrant flushing can make the water temporarily appear rusty/brown in color for this reason residents are reminded that water quality should be checked before use. For a daily schedule please call 952-442-1234, option 1. Questions can be directed to Doug Bode, Public Utilities Supervisor at 952-442-2615.
