The City of Waconia is pursuing state legislation that would allow the community to create a social district in the downtown core. A social district would allow businesses to voluntarily participate in the district and would allow for the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages within the district on public sidewalks or streets, between bars & restaurants, and retail businesses.
